DevilDriver: Heavy Metal With Heart

Posted by  Megan Rondeau

Named after an instrument used to drive away evil forces (see: “devil driver”) and formed on a foundation that challenges society, heavy metal band DevilDriver backs down to no one. Led like soldiers into battle by vocalist Dez Fafara, the band has proved time and again that perseverance and an unapologetic attitude can take you to the top.

But don’t let the tough exterior fool you. Even the hardest heavy hitters in rock have a heart for animals. Don’t believe me? Hear it straight from the mayor of metal himself!

As a self-proclaimed animal lover, Dez Fafara knows what it takes to make a difference for animals and to stand up for those who need help the most. Every year, 6 to 8 million animals enter shelters in the U.S., and roughly half are euthanized because there’s nowhere for them to go. Thousands more are abandoned, abused, and neglected. It may seem like a lot to take on, but stopping animal abuse starts with you!

Take these steps:

  • Never be silent. If you see abuse or neglect, contact peta2 or your local authorities.
  • Don’t leave animals outside. Your dog is part of your family and doesn’t deserve to live on a chain.
  • Always adopt, and spay or neuter. Purchasing from pet stores or breeders keeps cruel puppy mills in business.

Root for the underdog!

Fill out the form below and pledge always to adopt your animal companions and to have them spayed or neutered. Together, we can help end animal homelessness!

We always adopt our animals who have been rescued and fostered by the humane society. The are pre-spayed or neutered upon adoption.
