Because horses are not cars
We here at peta2 have had a soft spot in our hearts for William Beckett ever since The Academy Is… first hit the scene. It’s no doubt that he’s the cutest ever and that his songs are undeniably catchy. But did you know that he’s also the ultimate cat lover?
Even though William’s now a busy solo artist touring as much as he can (maybe you’ve been lucky to sing along with him in the Acoustic Basement at Warped Tour?), he still took the time to hang out, play us a song, and chat about his cat, Scully, and how adopting her totally changed his life!
I think that adopting an animal or bringing an animal into your home is not something that’s light—this is a responsibility, this is important. And I think that more people should consider it that way.
William makes a strong point. Deciding to adopt a dog or cat and give him or her a forever home is a huge decision and responsibility. You’re saving a life, but you’re also now responsible for a life!
Remember, 6 to 8 million dogs and cats enter animal shelters every year, and buying a dog or cat from a breeder or pet store means that one less animal in a shelter gets a chance at finding a loving home.
Make sure that you can feed, walk, play with, and care for your new companion. It’s a 24/7 job! Lots of love and attention is a must-do, too.
Fill out the form below and pledge always to adopt your animal companions and to have them spayed or neutered. Together, we can help end animal homelessness!
