Pssst! Want to know a secret? Sometimes vegans drink milk. No, not milk from a cow—that would be gross, cruel, and unhealthy. We drink the good kind—made from rice, almonds, soy beans, coconuts … the list goes on and on! These three peta2 staffers shared their faves:
Milk of choice: Is it bad that I’m not loyal to one type of milk? If I had to choose, I’d say unsweetened almond milk.
Preferred brand: Trader Joe’s. It’s cheap!
Why: I think almond milk tastes less artificial when used in baked goods.
Milk of choice: Soy
Brand: Silk (vanilla-flavored, especially)
Why: Almonds make my tongue itch, for one thing. Silk is a vegan fixture, and it’s available pretty much everywhere these days!
Milk of choice: Almond
Brand: Trader Joe’s
Why: It’s thick, unlike rice milk. It isn’t sweetened but doesn’t taste unsweetened, either. It doesn’t taste TOO much like almonds.

because it is sooo good, it’s sweet but not too sweet, something I can drink daily and it’s like drinking smoothie instead of milk/soy!!

I love mixing different kinds and trying them with different foods/recipes. Soy, rice and almond milk are easy to find. Hemp milk and other nut milks not so much, but you can easily make your own!
