For years, Blackglama Mink has tried to convince consumers that fur is a must-have luxury item by hiring Hollywood VIPs to star in its ads. But PETA’s latest anti-fur ad shows everyone just who actually wears fur: losers.
Comedian Amy Sedaris, star of the new Strangers With Candy movie based on the cult-hit Comedy Central show, became “Jerri Blank” once again to star in PETA’s “What Becomes a Loser Most?” anti-fur ad, parodying Blackglama Mink’s “What Becomes a Legend Most?” ads. You remember Jerri, don’t ya? She’s the 47-year-old high school freshman and self-proclaimed former boozer, user, and loser. Now she’s letting fur hags in on the secret that everyone else already knows: “When you wear fur, people laugh at you, not with you.”

When Jerri’s around, things are sure to get out of hand, so make sure that you don’t miss the exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot, featuring Jerri’s—we mean, Amy’s—good friend and longtime PETA pal Todd Oldham, who shot the ad for us. And while Jerri is fashionably challenged, to say the least, she wants you to remember that the true fashion victims are the animals who live lives filled with misery and suffer excruciatingly painful deaths for every fur coat, collar, or cuff produced.
Don’t be a loser; sign the fur-free pledge below. C’mon—all the cool kids are doing it.
