Audrey Kitching Saves Animals!

Although I'm yet to appear on any "worst-dressed" lists, I'm not exactly what most would consider a fashion expert. Most of my experience comes from fashion guru Tim Gunn and his highly addictive show, Project Runway. Regardless, I can tell you that I know fashion when I see it, and Audrey Kitching definitely embodies style.

Originally from the East Coast, Audrey made her way out to L.A., where, because of her very distinctive look, she quickly made a name for herself. She appeared as a model for SoSoHappy and Hot Topic and made appearances in magazines such as Nylon and Us Weekly. Audrey is also a very active blogger on Buzznet and says that her goal is to "change beauty standards one sequin at a time." She's also teamed up with peta2 and Skelanimals in the past to prove how easy it is to be fabulous without fur.

Audrey approached us with an idea that we couldn't say "no" to—she wants to be the peta2 superhero and is making a movie about it! We are exclusively releasing the trailer for her movie Change, which will be released sometime in the near future. Audrey has designed a shirt for the movie and is giving a portion of the sales to peta2—all to save animals. Check out the trailer and her interview below to become a part of Audrey's army!

How did this project come about?
I wanted to do something to raise money and awareness for peta2. So we came up with the idea of me being a superhero!

Where did the idea for your superhero alter ego come from, and how fun was it designing the costume?
I feel the world is always in need of more superheroes, and it's time that peta2 had one. It was a blast designing the costumes and coming up with the concepts for the promo.

Who were your favorite superheroes growing up?
Catwoman

Why did you want to team up with peta2 for this project?
I love animals, and peta2 is one of my favorite nonprofits, so it just made sense.

What do you want your fans to take away from this project?
That in each and every one of us is the ability to be a hero and that people everywhere will join the fight for those who can't speak for themselves!

Pretty awesome, right?! Do you want to be a superhero for animals? Get started by clicking to buy the shirt that not only looks great but also helps to save animals, one sequin at a time. The next step is taking our pledge below to help end animal homelessness by giving each animal the proper home that he or she deserves. Kudos, Audrey, and thanks for the support!

Pledge to End Animal Homelessness!

Full Pledge Text:

I want to help put an end to animal homelessness. By signing my name, I pledge to support and practice animal birth control by spaying or neutering my animal companions, educating others about the importance of spaying and neutering, and never buying animals from a breeder or a pet store.
