Thursday is one of the most beloved bands to come out of the alternative music scene in the last decade. Hailing from the same New Jersey breeding ground that spawned Lifetime and Midtown, Thursday emerged as one of the leaders of the emo and hardcore sound that has come to be synonymous with the early 2000s. Now, 10 years after the release of Full Collapse, Thursday has a new record due out this spring and a whole new decade to conquer.
Thursday and peta2 go way back. For almost as long as peta2 has been around, Thursday has been right there with us, helping to bring the animal rights message to their fans. Whether boycotting KFC for its cruel treatment of chickens, advocating for adopting animals from shelters, or speaking out against animal testing, the members of Thursday have proven time and time again that everyone can make a difference for animals by choosing to live with compassion.
As Geoff says in our latest interview, part of the challenge is getting people to change their attitudes about animals and stop treating them "as if they're not alive." Animals suffering on factory farms all over the world are no different than the cat or dog you may have at home. They have the same capacity to experience pain and fear and the same desire to feel safe and cared for. The good news? You can help! Take our pledge to try veganism today. By going vegan, you'll save the lives of more than 100 animals every year.
