"Killing time is killing me, too," serenades Shane Tutmarc in "Rocker Chixxx Dig Us," a song off his first album, Waiting for a World War. The Dolour frontman definitely has a talent for verbalizing his feelings about relationships—human and animal alike.
Since his first album dropped when he was 21, Shane has collaborated with many artists, and his sound has been compared to that of the Beatles, The Flaming Lips, Weezer, and Ben Folds. But while his eclectic style has varied, his animal rights ideals have stayed constant. This Seattle native has been veg since high school and has used his melodic voice to let others know that eating meat is unnatural and that custom is no excuse for causing suffering.
What do you think? Is it just a coincidence that "Chixxx" is in the title of a song with lyrics like "Killing time is killing me, too"? We think it might be a clever subliminal message, since chickens are the most abused animals on the face of the Earth. Maybe there's even a secret message in his interview with peta2!
