His latest album, P’s & Q’s, is definitely a clever play on his already-alphabetical name. But don’t be fooled—LMNO isn’t just the four letters of the alphabet that kids tend to stumble over. LMNO is an acronym for “Leave My Name Out,” and no doubt hip-hop heads are trippin’ over this MC.

Those familiar with LMNO, who’s a Long Beach lyricist and member of the Visionaries, may know that he has chosen a spiritual path, which he doesn’t gloss over on his records. Tracks like “G.O.D.” and “Only God Knows” let listeners know that this rapper chooses truth over pretension.
LMNO likes Silk soy milk and Boca burgers but tends to shy away from labels like “vegan” or “vegetarian.” However, his motto for eating is eloquently expressed in the lyrics of “No Eyes, No Mouth,” which you can listen to on his MySpace page. The whole song is hot, but a few lines that hit the listener hard are “Even if the meat wasn’t genetically processed, it’s all a bloody mess” and “I’m a human being who doesn’t kill to get his protein.”
LMNO also shared his thoughts on the production of furs, comparing it to murdering a human being, peeling off his or her skin, and putting it on a coat. We were moved by the comparison and had to agree with him when he said that fur lacks the “fly” factor that most fashionistas vie for. He even tries to stay from leather and says, “I still track around in the patent leather, break out the canvas CRs in the good weather.” To us it sounds like he is definitely on the compassionate track. Why not follow his lead and give the meat-free lifestyle a shot by taking the Veg Pledge? If you’re like LMNO and labels aren’t your thing, you don’t have to call yourself a “vegetarian”—you can always just say you’ve evolved or that you’re enlightened.
