KT Tunstall Shames KFC

The girls are out in force lending a hand to chickens unfortunate enough to end up in KFC's bloody buckets. Next in our line of ladies eager to stand up for their fellow chicks is Scotland's finest, KT Tunstall!

If there's one thing we like in a girl, it's that she sticks to her principles. When KT was recently asked by a meat company if they could use one of her songs in an advertising campaign for a big wad of cash in return, she flatly refused!

KT is a big animal lover, so when she heard about the horrific abuses that KFC's 850 million chickens go through, she was horrified. As a result, she fired off a letter to all of KFC's Scottish restaurants demanding a change in their practices. The letter states, "I am writing to ask for your help in changing the way that KFC raises and kills chickens for its restaurants. PETA is asking KFC to implement what the company's own animal welfare advisors have recommended …". To read the letter in full, click here.

KFC's own animal welfare advisors have asked the company to take steps to eliminate abuses such as breaking birds' wings and legs, slitting their throats while they're still conscious and scalding them to death, but they refuse to do so.
