Macbeth has always listened to its family when it comes to making shoes. But the members of Macbeth’s family aren’t dear ol’ mom and dad—they’re a ragtag bunch of surfers, tattoo artists, and bands, including our old friends Alkaline Trio, Eisley, and Taking Back Sunday. After catching word that the fam was in dire need of some quality vegan shoes, Macbeth came to the rescue by creating a vegan line and doing its part to let people know about the cruelty and environmental hazards of leather production. In the company’s own words, “Macbeth Vegan is committed to supporting the emergence of a more environmentally conscious public through educating consumers on the environmental and aesthetic advantages of the production of vegan clothing.”
In our time, we at peta2 have worn through a healthy pile of skate shoes, so we’re always stoked to see a company making animal-free kicks that look good and that last. The other reason why we’re so psyched on Macbeth is that it gave us a whole pile of free shoes and clothes to give away. Fill out the form below Macbeth’s new vegan ad for your chance to win two pairs of Macbeth Vegan shoes and a Macbeth Vegan T-shirt. We also have a ton of T-shirts and some shoes for runners-up, so hurry up and enter—the contest ends on August 14, 2006.
This is also your chance to enter into the halls of footwear fame by creating the new slogan for Macbeth’s vegan line. If you can come up with a short, catchy phrase that represents the connection between veganism and music, Macbeth will slap it all over one of its new vegan products. Have a crack at it below.
