Design Your Own Neighborhoodie—and We’ll Pay for It!

Growing up, everyone dreams of becoming one of two things—a rock star or a fashion designer. While we can’t teach you how to play guitar (we’re not so hot at it ourselves), we can help you get your foot in the door of the fashion world—well, sort of. We can at least hook you up with a cruelty-free fashion statement for your own wardrobe.

We made friends with the fine folks over at Neighborhoodies after finding out that their philosophy was that “Everyone should have their own clothing line.” Seeing as how peta2 is all about DIY, we thought we’d make a perfect pair. And boy, we were right!

Before long, we were hanging out all the time, chatting about our favorite music (we both heart Death Cab for Cutie, VHS or Beta, Q and Not U, and Iron and Wine) and our mutual love for animals (check your Neighborhoodies order for a free peta2 sticker!). It was during a recent discussion about Neighborhoodies’ über-cute doggie T-shirts that we decided, “Hey, we should do a shirt together—for humans!” But given that Neighborhoodies only does custom orders (so you don’t have to worry about showing up at school only to see your arch enemy sporting your duds), we decided to let you guys design the shirts for yourselves.

So here’s the deal—come up with a really awesome slogan by October 5, 2005. The top three slogans will earn a gift certificate that they can take to the Neighborhoodies Web site to use toward making their dream shirt a reality. Plus, we’ll publish your slogan on the Blog so that all the fashionistas of the world can envy your amazing creativity. Now get busy!
