Discover the Stars' Cruelty-Free Beauty Secrets!

There was a time—before you and I were even born—when looking good meant that little bunnies had to pay the price; you couldn't even find a hairspray that hadn't been tested on our furry friends. Luckily, these days the best beauty products are cruelty-free! Here's a look at your favorite stars' beauty secrets that keep them looking like A-listers! If they're good enough for Brangelina, they're good enough for us.

New cult brand Dr. Hauschka is opposed to animal testing—the company doesn't perform animal tests or use ingredients that have been tested on animals. Not only that, its products are used by some of the hottest celebs on the red carpet. Brad Pitt actually introduced Jennifer Aniston to the brand, and American Beauty Mena Suvari keeps her complexion clear with the stuff. At peta2, we love Dr. Hauschka's Rose Day Cream—which is a best seller and hot favorite with celebs and us "normal" people alike!

Another exclusive cruelty-free brand that the A-list loves is Dermalogica. It's not surprising that this line's products, which are used in top beauty salons all over the world, are scooped up by Mischa Barton, Victoria Beckham, and Jessica Biel to keep their skin glowing. Biel swears by Dermalogica's skin-brightening system to keep her face fresh. We recommend the Ultra Calming cleanser—it will protect your skin against today's environmental nasties, like pollution.

Now on to makeup: What else but MAC? The line, of course, is cruelty-free, and it has more celebrity fans than you can shake a lip liner at! Our very own Pamela Anderson is even one of MAC's spokesmodels. One of the line's more popular products is its powder blush in "Margin." Makeup artist to the stars Gregory Arlt says that it's "[t]he ideal universal blush shade. I use it on Minnie, Sienna, Victoria, and Pamela. This is the L.A. glow in a pot." Sounds good to us! Also recommended is MAC's Face and Body—it's the perfect lightweight foundation for a daytime A-list look.

Barry M is another hot favorite among today's coolest musicians and bright young things. The line is light on the purse strings and consists of the prettiest, sparkliest makeup you've ever seen! The Dazzle Dusts are earning cult status fast. Pretty peta2 poster girl Sophie Ellis Bextor, the Girls Aloud girls, and lovely Lily Allen (I swear she gets more good-looking every time I see her) can't get enough of the stuff!

Now, if you want to look A-list, you need to make sure that your skin is smooth and polished. Lush uses natural ingredients and wouldn't dream of hurting a hair on a bunny's head to get results—after all, there's no need! Kylie Minogue keeps her famous behind looking good with Aqua Mirabilis scrub bar. She stocks up on the wonder product by the truckload. It's gorgeous, and it smells good enough to eat—but don't!

Now for your locks. Want to make them look good enough for the red carpet? We suggest cruelty-free company Bumble and bumble's hair products—the shampoo for color-treated hair is simply gorgeous, and the thickening spray will turn dull, lifeless, thin hair into luscious Marilyn Monroe hair full of volume. Celebrity Bumble and bumble fans include Jessica Alba, who uses the line's famous Surf Spray for that "straight from the beach" look.

Makeup brushes can be a little tricky. Be careful, as many companies still make them from animal hairs. Aveda has the most beautiful line of synthetic makeup brushes around. Go and stock up; I wouldn't know what to do without my Aveda brushes! Angelia Jolie uses Aveda products to keeps her mane looking gorgeous! We're sold!

Lastly (frankly, we could go on forever!), Stella McCartney—our vegan designer hero—has just introduced a new line of skincare products. We can't wait to get our hands on them when they hit stores, but until then, we'll go for her brand-new perfume, Stella in Two! After all, it's no use looking A-list if you smell like old socks.
