In recent years, more and more people have realized that wearing fur means supporting shocking cruelty to animals. Most everyone can agree that wearing fur is just plain cruel, but many have yet to make the same connection with wearing Australian wool. We need your help to show people that wool is the new fur (and that Australia is the new China).
Lambs raised for their wool in Australia have huge chunks of skin and flesh cut from their backsides in a process known as “mulesing.” When their wool production declines, sheep are shipped on open-deck ships to the Middle East, where animal welfare standards are non-existent. The sheep are then dragged off the ships and onto trucks, and their throats are slit while they're still conscious.
