Ever find yourself walking through your local grocery store thinking, "If only there were a warning label on Iams dog- and cat-food that told shoppers about their heartless animal experiments"? Since Iams would obviously never use such a label, we've come up with some big, bold warning stickers that reveal the truth about Iams' cruel and unnecessary tests on dogs and cats, and we want to send a whole bunch of them to you.
Anyone who has shared their home with a dog or a cat knows that they require lots and lots of attention and companionship. The animals forced to undergo painful tests for Iams products receive nothing of the sort—they are trapped in cages for years at a time, denied basics such as a soft place to lie down, toys, or veterinary care when they get sick. During a 10-month undercover investigation into an Iams contract laboratory, PETA discovered one particularly gruesome Iams experiment in which dogs had huge chunks of muscle cut out of their thighs. You have to wonder exactly what kind of sick company would perform such horrible tests on puppies and kittens when so many other brands rely on in-home studies with animals volunteered by their human companions.
Dogs who are used and abused by Iams are often surgically debarked, so it's up to you to be their voice. While you're waiting for your pack of Iams warning stickers to arrive, print off a few tear-off fliers, head out to your nearest grocery or pet-supply store, and get to work!
After you've used all of the stickers we send you, submit a report telling us how things went, and we'll award you with 1,000 Street Team points. For a 1,000-point bonus, snap a quick photo or two of your stickering action, and send them to peta2.pics@tamw.com with StreetTeam@peta.org in the "cc" field. We'll post them for all to see at http://peta2.textamerica.com and maybe even on the PETA2 Daily Blog!
