If animals could talk, maybe they’d say, “Jesus loves me, too!” With that in mind, we’ve created the following Street Team mission.
If you’re a frequent reader of our blog, then you know how easy it is to get letters to the editor published. Street Teamers do it all the time. One key to getting your letter published is tying it into something that readers will care about. This Street Team mission involves writing letters to the editors encouraging Christians to show compassion for animals. At the bottom of this page is a sample letter to get you going.
To submit your letter to the editor, search for the Web site of your local newspaper, look for the “contact us” section, and follow the instructions. You should also submit your letter to your school newspaper. It’s even easier to get published in a school paper than in a local paper.
To reap the rewards of this mission, send a copy of your letter to the editor to StreetTeam@peta2.com, along with your full name and address and the name of the newspaper that you wrote to. Send letters to as many newspapers as possible—it’ll up your chances of being published. Be sure to change your letter when submitting it to several papers in the same area. We’ll hook you up with 500 points for each unique letter to the editor that you send us.
E-mail or mail us your published letter, and we’ll reward you with your choice of any of our “Jesus Loves Me, Too” merch. If they’re not your cup of tea, then we could substitute an item that is more appealing to you.
Don’t forget to order your free “Jesus Loves Me, Too” and “I Am Not a Nugget” stickers!

Growing up, my parents taught me about Jesus’ message of love and compassion, but there is nothing loving or compassionate about factory farms and slaughterhouses, where billions of animals live miserable lives and die violent, bloody deaths. Jesus taught kindness, mercy, compassion, and love for all God’s creation. He would be appalled by the degree of suffering that we inflict on animals to indulge our acquired taste for their flesh. |
