Some things make you proud to be British, like bubble and squeak, punk music, Heinz baked beans, Stephen Fry, Harry Potter and, of course, the Antiques Roadshow. Unfortunately, there is also the not-so-great British institution of fish and chips.
Now here's a dilemma for you: How can you remain a proud Brit while speaking out against the British tradition of devouring dead fish? Freelance designer and peta2 UK friend Alexandre Bettler has a solution: "Save Fish – Eat Chips". Our scaly friends are often overlooked when it comes to compassion even though billions of them are killed in cruel ways for food every year. They are either "farmed" in ways similar to how most animals raised for food are – in cramped, filthy conditions – or pulled from their homes in huge nets and left to suffocate.

You can let people know that fish feel pain. Here's how:
- Print out this sign.
- Take a picture of yourself with it outside your local chippy. Snap some shots of your friends too!
- Send your photos and a report on how it went to StreetTeam@peta2.com and you'll be given a whopping 500 points. (By sending your photos to this e-mail address, we take that to mean you've read and agreed to the Terms of Submission.)
Remember, if you are not already a member of the peta2 Street Team, join now. As a member, you can help animals and get some crazy peta2 merch at the same time.
Much love!
