Get ready to meet the best thing to come out of Sweden since, umm … ABBA? Well, anyway, they’re awesome. We’re talking about Cult of Luna (and we think it’s worth noting that a whopping 75 per cent of the band is vegetarian – the other two must get a right old earful at dinner), a group that’s been up all hours traipsing around London, Sweden and the rest of Europe for the past few months to bring you the best in progressive doom/post-metal. Yes, Kerrang!’s and peta2’s most recent love affairs are with Cult of Luna. And even though the band has been very busy of late, amid all the girls and booze (or whatever rock ’n’ roll bands are up to these days!), Johannes found the time to sit down with peta2 to tell us why animal rights is so important and why eating animals is so bloomin’ last century that you might as well start wearing a loincloth!
Reasons to watch the interview include the following:
We sat outside the ludicrous theme/chain restaurant Nando’s to film the interview, and there was an uncomfortable- and frightening-looking girl there who looked ready to beat our brains in!
Halfway through the interview, some Camden hoodlum tried to steal Johannes’ hat – we pursued the common criminal and taught him a bloody good lesson. It was a bit like in Eastenders when Phil shoves Ian’s head down the lavvy. (We just edited that bit out.)
