As if their '60s mini-dresses and men's skinny jeans weren't enough to make us love Topshop more than we love our bloomin' mothers, now you've got a whole new whopper of a reason to fall in love with Topshop. This week, Topshop unveiled an incredible anti-fur window display at their flagship shop and the world's largest fashion store in Oxford Street, London. Topshop teamed up with PETA Europe for the display, which shows consumers that cruelty has no place in fashion. Topshop know that animals trapped for their fur in the wild suffer for days before having their chests stomped on or their necks broken by trappers, and on fur farms, animals spend their entire lives confined to tiny, filthy cages, where they often go insane before they are killed by poisoning, gassing, anal electrocution or neck-breaking.
The window shows a huge anti-fur symbol next to a single mannequin wearing a coat made entirely from stuffed animals (I know, we saw Toy Story, too, but try not to think about it!). The display aims to highlight the staggering number of animals it takes to make just one fur coat. Our mates at Topshop's flagship store are also giving customers free anti-fur badges - so if you live in London, get your faux leather walking boots on and get down to Topshop for your free badge!
Please join the leading fashion store in the UK in taking a stand against fur and sign peta2's fur-free pledge!
