Veggie Burger Project Success!
Posted November 9, 2011 by Rachelle Owen
Since we launched The Veggie Burger Project a few months ago, we’ve been flooded with e-mails from Street Teamers across the country who have successfully “just asked” for a veggie burger and had their school agree! It really is that easy, folks!
Most recently, Amundsen High School students Felix, Laura, and Amundsen Animal Rights Club event coordinator Victor have campaigned—with success—to have a veggie burger and soy cheese (!!!) added to the lunch menu. Freaking awesome, right?! Check it:
They even created super-cute posters to help promote the burger around school (with permission, of course!):
Sick of crappy food in your cafeteria? Check out The Veggie Burger Project for tips, FAQs, and a sample letter to give to your school officials asking them to get a veggie burger!

As a kid, I was and am still curious about the great big world we live in, and I thought nothing of animal abuse. But for some or no completely good reasons, I was getting sicker and weaker. Then one day I heard about PETA while I was on the internet. I got a little curious, and I went veg after finding out meat was one of the reasons I was sicker. Right now, I'm still trying to give up meat for my health. But I'm getting there!
