Hi, I live in Sweden and I have heard that Sweden has the best animal protection laws in the world. But, I don’t know how good they are and if it is okay to eat Swedish meat.
So, can anyone at PETA tell me about the animal protection laws of Sweden? (Is it okay to eat meat from Sweden?)

Aww :( Poor cows! I’ll try to find these alternative milks in store, but it is really hard. Especially for me since my parents doesn’t know I’m a vegan yet :/ And there’s not many vegans here in Sweden.
    But I’ll try.

    Hey @Bullio,

In order for cows to produce milk they must be pregnant so they are artificially inseminated over and over again until their bodies are so wasted and they are sent to be slaughtered for meat.

The good news is that there are so many vegan milks available nowadays, check them out: http://www.peta2.com/lifestyle/vegan-milk-101/.

Oh 😛 Thanks for the answer. Yeah, you’re right, I’ll probably go vegan but I have one more question: What about Swedish milk? The dairy cows in Sweden are treated fairly good compared to dairy cows in other countries actually, but they are probably sent for slaughter when they can’t produce milk anymore and etc? Is it okay to drink and eat milk products from Sweden? I think they have it pretty good here compared to other places but it might support slaughter and the milk is for the calf, not humans, so I am not sure about this one. :/

    Hey @Bullio,

Remember, there’s no such thing as humane meat. All animals used for meat suffer and are exploited. The best way to truly help animals is by going vegan! 😀
