Switching to a plant-based diet means that you aren’t contributing to the abuse and slaughter of billions of animals every year. Did you know that chickens raised for their flesh spend their entire lives in filthy, crowded sheds and are drugged to grow so large, so quickly that many suffer from crippling injuries, heart attacks, and organ failure? Cows used for their milk are repeatedly impregnated on what the dairy industry calls “rape racks” only to have their babies taken away shortly after birth so that humans can drink the milk that was meant for their calves. Piglets are torn away from their mothers as babies, too. Their tails are then chopped off, and males are castrated—all without any painkillers. 💔
