Because horses are not cars
UFC fighter Thiago “The Pitbull” Alves is no sissy. As a Brazilian Muay Thai champion and celebrated mixed martial arts fighter, Thiago may throw knockout punches in the ring, but when it comes to animals, he knows that real men always speak up for the underdog.
I have a choice. I love what I do. They don’t.
Unlike the loving, loyal dogs who are forced to fight by abusive owners, Thiago chooses to get into the ring. Dogs bred and trained to fight are often kept in tiny cages or outdoors on heavy chains for 24 hours a day. To make them more aggressive, dogfighters starve, beat, and taunt them, and they use smaller animals (who are sometimes stolen from people’s yards) as “bait.”
If you witness cruelty or neglect, don’t be afraid to speak up! It could mean the difference between life and death.
