A Skylit Drive’s New peta2 Ad
Considering that they’re part of the 2010 Libby Award-winning Fearless Records roster, it’s no surprise that we here at peta2 love the members of A Skylit Drive. The California-bred metal sextet first started making waves in 2008, but it wasn’t until the release of their Fearless Records debut, 2009’s Adelphia, that the band really made their mark. Now with their new album, Identity On Fire, A Skylit Drive is ready to take on 2011 full steam ahead with no looking back. To help kick the year off right, the band teamed up with peta2 to help champion an issue that will grab everyone by the heartstrings. The boys in black say it best: Embrace a cruelty-free identity—don’t wear fur.
Animals on fur farms-including foxes, minks, coyotes, rabbits, and even cats and dogs-endure unimaginable suffering. PETA’s undercover video exposé of Chinese fur farms reveals that animals are crammed into tiny, filthy cages. Many of the animals suffer from exposed bones or gaping wounds, yet they receive little food or water and no veterinary care. After enduring miserable lives, animals on fur farms are beaten to death, electrocuted, or skinned alive. There is no excuse for wearing fur or clothing with fur trim. Top designers, stores, and celebrities all around the world have taken a stand against the fur industry, and you can too!
