Ohio natives Miss May I are threatening to rip the seams off the stitching of metal music. Rather than fitting squarely inside the boundaries of what makes a metalcore band or a thrash band, the Rise Records five-piece is hell bent on defining who they are on their own terms, and who they are is a band that wants to rock your f**king face off.
In his second time collaborating with peta2, Miss May I vocalist Levi Benton is back to speak out about animal adoption. As the proud guardian of his own rescued dog—a beagle named Buster—Levi is someone who can speak with sincerity about the importance of animal adoption.
Every year, millions of cats and dogs are euthanized in animal shelters because there aren’t enough good homes to take them in. Meanwhile, breeders continue to turn a profit by selling animals to pet stores, only furthering the overpopulation crisis. Laws, like the one recently enacted in Los Angeles, are beginning to take effect that would prohibit pet stores from selling animals bred at puppy and kitten mills. Until laws like this exist everywhere, it’s up to us as individuals to make the responsible choice to adopt from shelters and encourage friends and family to do the same.
