When Chiodos parted ways with their beloved and at times notorious frontman, Craig Owens, many thought that the band’s days were numbered. However, fears were quelled and critics silenced when vocalist Brandon Bolmer (formerly of Yesterday’s Rising) stepped in to fill the void. With the release of their third full-length album, Illuminaudio, Chiodos is back on top and back to giving fans what they’ve come to expect and love from one of the biggest bands of the genre.
According to the dictionary, compassion is a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate that being’s suffering. In this instance, “compassion” means pledging not to buy or wear clothing made from real fur or with fur trim. By refusing to wear fur, you’ll be helping to stop the suffering of cats, dogs, minks, foxes, rabbits, and countless other animals who are confined to cramped, filthy cages on fur farms and are beaten to death, electrocuted, or skinned alive. With so many stores and designers—including H&M, Forever 21, American Apparel, Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, and Betsey Johnson—ditching fur for good, there’s no reason for anyone to support the fur industry by wearing the real thing. So join Chiodos and many others by adhering to these three small words that can have a huge impact for animals: Don’t wear fur.
