I bring awesome news, fellow animal-loving makeup junkies! The European Union’s ban on the sale of animal-tested cosmetics went into full force today! Why is this like the best news ever? Well, testing cosmetics products and ingredients in the EU was already banned, but now, cosmetics and cosmetics ingredients that were tested on animals outside the EU can no longer be sold there!

It gets better, yo. If cosmetics companies—including those in the U.S.—want to reach Europe’s 500 million consumers, they will have to stop using rabbits, rats, and mice in tests, which include force-feeding, dripping chemicals into rabbits’ eyes, and rubbing painful substances onto animals’ skin.

This victory will save thousands of animals around the world from cruel experiments in the name of vanity—and it happened because people like you said no to animal-tested cosmetics!
