Monterrey, Mexico, peta2 member and former PETA intern Katia Rodriguez has done so many awesome things to raise awareness for animals that she’s being given a peta2 Star Award!

What awesome things has Katia done? Here are just a few:

  • She has organized a drive for food and materials for her local animal shelter, at which she regularly volunteers.
  • She has set up tables outside high schools in her area to talk about McCrueltyfur, and the Animal Liberation Project.
  • She is the administrator of a vegetarian group in her city that organizes monthly meetings for more than 1,000 members.
  • She’s participated in protests against McDonald’s and bullfighting.

Katia is also vegan and part of the peta2 Youth Advisory Board, where she helps peta2 with new campaigns and ideas.

In addition to being recognized as a Star peta2 member, Katia will also receive a framed certificate acknowledging her hard work!
