1. Soy Chorizo
Yaaas, my fellow Mexican-food lovers, some dollar stores carry vegetarian chorizo. Cook it with potatoes for a crazy-cheap and crazy-delish meal.
2. Carb City B*tch, Carb, Carb City B*tch!
French fries, hash browns, tater tots, wedges, sweet-potato fries—the dollar store can make any potato dream you have come true.
3. Beans for Dayz
Beans are some of the cheapest and healthiest foods you can eat. And dollar stores have a variety to choose from, including white, pinto, black, and refried—whatever your lovely heart desires. Just be sure to get the vegetarian or fat-free refried beans, because ain’t nobody got time for yucky lard!
4. Soy Milk
Yes, some dollar stores sell soy milk. Look through the cereal or beverage aisle. There’s seriously no excuse not to buy vegan milk—I mean, c’mon, it’s a dollar.
5. Frozen Veggies
Let’s face it, cooking can be a b*tch sometimes—especially when you’re super-hungry and the last thing you want to do is cut up veggies. Frozen veggies make cooking WAY easier! Use them to make a bomb stir-fry, add them to your fave vegan chili, or mix them up with pasta for a healthy twist on an old classic.
6. Vegan Ramen
OK, so ramen is cheap everywhere, but you might as well pick some up while you’re at the dollar store. Some flavors are accidentally vegan! Just check the ingredients on the package.
