This is a cautionary tale serving as a warning to all vegans to check food labels carefully. You really don’t know what’s in products these days, and in many cases, it’s truly impossible to determine whether something is vegan based on its name and appearance.

As vegans, we must do our due diligence, because there’s honestly nothing worse than strolling down the grocery aisle and missing out on all the yummy snacks that you assumed weren’t vegan but ARE! Nyak nyak nyak. 😉

Here are a few surprisingly vegan foods that you might have overlooked because of their misleadingly nonvegan-sounding names.
