Vegan food is lit! And most vegans have what they consider to be vegan staples in their lives—but what about those foods from back in the day when you first went cruelty-free that had you pleasantly surprised and shook? Are you still rocking with those?

Well, we’ve got a list of goodies that made going vegan a no-brainer for many, and one of your faves may very well be below.

Outside the bun” is where it’s at when you’re looking for vegan fast-food to munch on. The chain gladly welcomes you and your money, so choose from its extensive vegetarian/vegan menu—it makes eating out so much simpler.

 OK, so have you tried B&J’s vegan flavors yet? If not, you are seriously missing out. They taste just like dairy ice cream and are even available in some of the same flavors that you know and love, such as Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia. Hit up your local Walmart, and be prepared to be satisfied.

10. Vegenaise

 One of the most spot-on vegan items ever, it’s made by Follow Your Heart. This right here is legit a vegan staple: creamy mayo made without eggs (aka “hen periods”). What more could you want in an excellent condiment?

11. Hummus

Hummus always comes through in the clutch. If you need a quick snack or even a sandwich spread, hummus is where it’s at. Plus, this simple protein-packed go-to can be paired with, like … EVERYTHING!
