Abduction is a five-minute virtual reality exhibit that uses the metaphor of an alien abduction 🛸 to encourage students to empathize with the millions of animals who are used for experimentation in labs on campuses just like theirs.

Most basic experiments involving animals are performed on college campuses, but many students don’t know that animals are trapped in desolate cages at their school—let alone that these sentient beings are forced to endure horrors. By joining the Abduction outreach crew, you can help blow the lid off animal research scams, spread the word about the ethical non-animal research methods that already exist, and inspire students to get involved in ending animal experiments on their campus.

Since Abduction first launched in the fall of 2022, the nationwide tour has visited more than 50 universities across the country, including Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Arizona State University; “abducted” over 3,500 students; collected hundreds of petition signatures; and distributed tons of info about how to take action for animals in laboratories.

This year, Abduction received Gold and Audience honors in the 8th Annual Shorty Impact Awards! 🥇

Now we’re hiring a new team to travel with the “aliens” across the country and motivate students to make a difference for the animals stuck in labs on their campuses! Each day will be filled with inspiring conversations about animal rights, yummy vegan food, and the opportunity to develop relationships with animal rights groups on campus.

If this position sounds out of this world, you’re right—but it’s not all fun and games. Expect to work hard, spend the day on your feet, and embark on long drives in a box truck the size of a U-Haul between cities. You’ll talk to people in different environments, use various technologies (including an Oculus headset), reach challenging goals, and set up and break down the truck display each day.
