Mission: Don’t Let Betty the Elephant Be Worked to Death!

Betty, a 57-year-old elephant, doesn’t belong in a circus, being forced to perform and give rides—but Carden Circus has made this her living nightmare. Share this IG post to show everyone what’s happening!

Betty was born in the forests of Thailand, and that’s exactly where she should have stayed. Instead, she was ripped away from everyone she loved to become a circus attraction. 💔 She’s spent nearly 40 years in chains under the Carden family. Is it any wonder why she’s called the most depressed elephant in the world?

Even for the most depressed elephant, there’s a glimmer of hope: We’ve helped get animals out of circuses before. In 2021, another elephant, Bo, whom the Carden family had exploited, was retired to a sanctuary. If we pressure Carden Circus hard enough, we can get the same for Betty—but we don’t have a sec to waste! An elephant expert saw Betty in April and September 2025 and said that her health is nosediving FAST. 😰
