Mission: Start a Fundraiser to Help Chained Dogs

Chained dogs struggle through bone-chilling snow, harsh winds, relentless rain, and blazing heat, sometimes with little or no shelter. They’re also commonly deprived of adequate food, water, veterinary care, and exercise, and their needs for companionship are ignored. 😞

PETA staff members do everything they can to improve dogs’ lives, including delivering free custom-built doghouses and straw bedding to the ones who would otherwise have no protection from the weather. We also replace heavy chains with lightweight tie-outs and work with families to help them better understand basic animal care and how to improve their dogs’ quality of life. In addition, we work at the community level by participating in straw giveaway events, providing humane education, and engaging in other outreach activities, including billboard campaigns.

Did you know that you can help dogs like the ones seen in our IG reels above simply by using the IG “Donate” sticker? Here’s how you can raise money on IG to support PETA’s lifesaving work for animals:

1. Open Instagram Stories, then tap the “Stickers” button and select “Donate.”

2. Search for “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)” and click on that account.

3. Set the goal amount, tap “Done,” and customize your story to include a call to action. (“Help chained dogs survive this winter!” or something similar.)

4. Take a screenshot of your story and submit it for 150 peta2 points. (Heads-up: You’ll only be awarded points once for taking this action.)
