Mission: Ghost SeaWorld—Keep Your Cash Away From Animal Abuse

For over 50 years, SeaWorld has been tearing animals away from their families, breeding them, and imprisoning them in tiny, barren tanks. It’s time to ghost SeaWorld! 👻

These animals’ stories will haunt you:

  • Corky was abducted from her family in 1969 and used as a breeding machine at another park, but none of her 7 calves lived past 47 days. In 1987, she was transferred to SeaWorld, where her last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.
  • An orca named Kasatka died after suffering from an infection, but not before SeaWorld sexually abused her in its former orca breeding program. SeaWorld was forced to stop breeding orcas, but it’s still forcibly breeding other dolphins and whales.
  • SeaWorld separated two bonded polar bears, Szenja and Snowflake, after they’d spent 20 years together. Szenja died two months later—prob with a broken heart. 💔
  • An orca named Shamu was kidnapped from her mom in the ocean, who was shot with a harpoon and killed right in front of her.
  • Martha, a beluga whale, gave birth to five calves as part of SeaWorld’s breeding program. Four of them are now dead, and the fifth was taken from her.

More than 40 orcas and over 500 other dolphins and whales have died at SeaWorld, and that number will keep ticking up unless we do something. Let SeaWorld know that you’re hitting the company where it hurts—its bank account—until it stops the suffering. 💸 Here’s how to do it and earn 150 peta2 points from our Rewards Program:

1. Leave a comment on one of SeaWorld’s IG posts saying you’re ghosting the company until it stops exploiting animals (using the 👻 emoji never hurts).
