Have an Old Fur Coat? Here’s Why You Should Donate It to PETA

Some people may still have fur coats, hats, or accessories they purchased before learning about the horrific fur industry. 💔 Even if you don’t plan to purchase fur products ever again, wearing any fur—old or new—promotes the idea that it’s acceptable to kill someone in the name of fashion.

Do you or a family member have an old fur coat that you don’t know what to do with? We can’t undo the cruelty that went into making it, but we can ensure that donated furs go toward protecting vulnerable members of our communities.

You can have a positive impact by donating any fur coats or accessories to PETA. ❤️ We’ll repurpose them to provide orphaned baby animals with bedding or offer warmth to refugees or people without homes—the only humans with any excuse to wear fur.

PETA may also use donated furs to create displays and demonstrations to educate the public that millions of fur-bearing animals are killed every year to produce garments.

Why not donate old furs to a local thrift store or sell them to a consignment shop? Donating your old fur coats or accessories to help people or animals in need is the only way to justify using these products. It’s never OK to wear the fur of a dead animal—even if the clothing or accessory is thrifted.

We appreciate you for recognizing that fur isn’t “fashionable” or something to wear. Please urge the U.S. ambassador to the U.K. to help get bearskin replaced with faux fur for the King’s Guard’s caps.
