Elephants in the hands of Ringling Bros. are whipped as well as yanked and beaten with heavy steel-tipped bullhooks—sometimes until bloody!
The good news? Street Teamers are taking action against the cruelty of the circus!
When Street Teamer Alexandra Craig found out that the circus was coming to town, she took it upon herself to speak up for these animals. Alexandra and her friends protested for four days! Many people who were heading toward the circus even changed their minds and went to a nearby music festival instead when they learned about the horrible ways that elephants and other animals are abused in circuses. Way to go, Alexandra!
Check out these rockin’ pics from the protest:

Is an animal circus coming to your town? E-mail us at peta2@peta2.com, and we’ll help you plan your very own protest and hook you up with all the materials that you’ll need!

Father loves to farm, be self sustainable, loves to read, he's a antiques/vintage auctioneer, art student, and looks like mr. Rogers. My mother is a Montessori teacher and is amazing with children, all about local organic foods, loves gardening, cooking etc. my sister who is nine years older than me was into indie music and introduced me to all sorts of things at a young age. This all rubbed of on me and from that base I grew into similar things. I'm an INFJ
I love animals about as much as rock, heavy metal, tea, and coffee. Hoping to make a difference and help animals through PETA!!!
I'm tall, a geek, nacho - obsessed, I love sewing and Cath Kidston, also I'm vegetarian (wannabe vegan.)
Well let's just say life ain't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride. I love all my pets and would do anything for them. I have one dog, two cats, a ferret and my babygirl shaymin,(the cutest hedgehog alive) I'm into all different kinds of music. I'm a singer myself and love art.
I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.
I am Angela. When I am not helping animals I am listening to music, reading, or playing video games. My spirit animal is a fox and I love nature. What else is there to know? Want to know anything about me, need advice or anything message me :)

That is fantastic; I really admire people who love animals, same way I do, and defend/stand for them; you’re doing a wonderful job Alexandra, being their voice!

My advice would be to start a group on Facebook. Its a great way to reach people. Ask all of your friends & family members to share the page, & get involved. Once you’ve formed a group of people, make a name for yourselves, depending on what type of protests you want to do, or animal rights you want to voice your opinions about. For example, I’m a part of a local vegan group & we meet multiple times a week for movies, book discussions, potlucks, and more. There are so many ways to get involved. Even if that doesn’t work out, just doing your own thing still helps! Volunteer at local non kill shelters. Hope that helps
