The new year is already looking a bit brighter for animals: A PETCO store in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, has announced that it will close permanently on January 1—which is great news for the hamsters, gerbils, mice, fish, and other small animals who suffer and die every day in PETCO’s stores and suppliers’ facilities.
“Life” for the animals PETCO sells often consists of struggling to survive wild capture or captive breeding in horrific conditions, suffering from untreated injuries and illnesses, and fighting for food in feces-strewn, severely crowded cages. At the massive breeding mills that supply live animals to the pet trade, PETA investigations have revealed sick and dying animals placed in freezers to die, live hamsters placed in a plastic bag and bashed against a table in an attempt to kill them, animals deprived of veterinary care and left to cannibalize their cagemates’ corpses, and other horrors.

Well let's just say life ain't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride. I love all my pets and would do anything for them. I have one dog, two cats, a ferret and my babygirl shaymin,(the cutest hedgehog alive) I'm into all different kinds of music. I'm a singer myself and love art.
I love animals about as much as rock, heavy metal, tea, and coffee. Hoping to make a difference and help animals through PETA!!!
I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.

This is horrifying! I am a petsmart employee ( I wasn’t aware of how cruel they are when I applied) but now I see all the horrifying torture first hand..
Thank god I don’t work or ever go into the actual store
( I work in the grooming salon- where I( keyword I) treat my dogs like they were my own. Some of the others are even mean to the dogs!!
But I feel as if it’s my job to inform every one I can on the animals there,
Everyone knows they are cruely kept in tiny cages, but no one does anything!
I hate hate seeing those poor animals!
Sure our team tries their best to care for these animals ( always have food) but it’s not right when a new ‘shipment’ gets in.. These living beings are treated as merchandise !!!!

The only animals that should be sold are animals at adoption agencies, even then they are adopted, not sold.

Hi! I know You Peta people think Petsmart (which is bigger than Petco) should ban all animals. I agree, but i think it is most important that they stop selling birds. Birds, especially parrots (including keets) live 20-90+ years! VERY FEW people can care for these animals, who need 10+ hours of attention a day, and hours of training. Many petsmart birds (Gouldian Finch, Molouccan Cockatoo, etc) are endangered or threatened! The HSUS predicts a MASS BIRD EUTHANASIA (including many endangered species) because of bird homelesness!
