Hometown: Chesapeake, Va.

Fave artists/bands: The Anniversary, The Appleseed Cast, Bon Iver, Boyz II Men, The Cranberries, Death Cab For Cutie, Discount, Everclear, Fairweather, Ghostface Killah, GZA, An Horse, Ida, The Jackson 5, Jay-Z, The Movielife, Ne-Yo, The Notorious B.I.G, The Owls, Saves The Day, Small Factory, The Stryder, Tegan and Sara, Tender Forever, The-Dream, T.I., Usher, Vampire Weekend, Wale

About me: I have two not-so-little brothers whom I adore, I'm Lebanese (don't let my name fool you—I'm a solid 25 percent), and I want to make a difference in the world.

I like: SeinfeldCurb Your EnthusiasmLaw & Order: SVUThe Wire, national parks, the beach, taking pictures, Vegenaise (I would bathe in it if it were socially acceptable), vegan ranch dressing and tempeh buffalo wings, any movie with Will Ferrell in it, Keyboard Cat, being finished with my college degree, Jonathan Safran Foer's books, thunder, camels, voting with my dollar, coffee, traveling via automobile, Googling things, snuggling with my kitty cats, and letting others cook delicious vegan foods for me

I dislike: Racism, lightning, spending two weekends in a row at home, and exchanging gifts at the holidays

Why I went veg: When I was 16 years old, I was eating a Chik-fil-A sandwich and realized that just because I could eat animals didn't mean that I should (for those of you who are wondering—I didn't finish that sandwich). I work hard for my money, why would I want to spend it supporting cruelty to animals?

Companion animals: I have the most beautiful baby kitties, Sammie and Sri. They're feline angels.

Favorite thing to do while traveling: I always have to be the first person to reach the next state line. If this means risking my limbs by leaning too far out of the car window—so be it.

Greatest accomplishment: I can name every single country in the world in less than 13 minutes. I can also spell each one correctly … there should be an award for that!
