Cupcakes are one of my favorite things. They are also one of the things I was worried I would have to give up when I went vegan. If only my inexperienced vegetarian self had known that vegan cupcakes taste BETTER than regular cupcakes and are super easy to make!
For those of you that live in New Jersey or New York City (or near there) then you need to go to Cupcakefest on Saturday, June 21st. It’s a day filled with vegan mini cupcakes, giveaways, and music by Junkpunch, And Then There Were Machines, Thing One, Brian Keith, and Kieran Hobler. The event is being presented by one of the most amazing vegan bakeries in Jersey: Sweet Avenue Bake Shop. Plus, it’s free! So if you’re in the area you have no excuse not to go.
For those of you that don’t live in places where vegan cupcakes are commonplace then you need to pick up this book. Maybe you can start the first ever vegan bakery in your town!

Too long to explain here, it's long enough for a novel.

I love animals about as much as rock, heavy metal, tea, and coffee. Hoping to make a difference and help animals through PETA!!!
I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.

My granny had a great chocolate coffee icing recipe that was vegan (depression era so supplies were limited). I’d pair it with a nice chocolate cupcake.
Or maybe a chocolate cupcake with a nice creamy coconut frosting.

Wow, I just checked out the menu, it’s cupcake heaven, I feel like I’ve been deprived all my life, I never knew those cupcakes existed. I’m thinking a cinnamon cake with apple filling and cream cheese icing sounds like a good idea. I was working the day of cupcake fest, sorry but I missed it.

I have a couple ideas, lemon lavender cupcake which is a lemon cupcake and lavender (like the flower) infused icing. mmm A Hazelnut cupcake light chocolate cupcake with nutella like ganache on top maybe with a couple hazelnut crunches as a garnish. or a caramel pineapple mousse cupcake. White or yellow cupcake filled with caramel topped with caramel pineapple whipped cream mousse!! so yummy Yes will be attending cupcakefest!

There is two things that I love in this world: one is peanut butter and jelly. I would looove to make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcake. It would be a peanut butter type cupcake filled with grape jelly filling and peanut butter icing. mmmm such a great combo and two.. All American apple pie… would love to make a cupcake with a cinnamon like cupcake filled with chunky apple filling and vanilla buttercream frosting sprinkled with sugar. YUM! Also, have been making this for my boyfriend since we both LOVE orange soda. A Sunkist cupcake! It’s sooo good! Basically, it’s a cupcake make with real Sunkist orange soda and cream cheese or white whipped cream frosting. it’s so amazing!! Will def be going to cupcakefest!

i haven’t had a mexican pastry in years. a super creamy vegan tres leches cupcake would be heaven. interesting variations would be to add rum or coconut flakes.
another idea would be a vegan version of my grandma’s “better-than-robert-redford cake.” it’s vanilla cake with a layer of crushed pineapple, bananas, and strawberries, covered with whipped cream then sprinkled with shaved coconut. it’s light and fruity, but so sweet.
cupcakefest is the day before my birthday. i’ll be there and i expect everyone to give me a birthday hug

I have a couple of ideas, but one really sticks out to me. I love cheesecake and caramel, so I think a Caramel Cheesecake Cupcake would be pretty awesome. I live in Kentucky (which means no on the Cupcakefest), and we have ZERO vegan shops. I’d love the cookbook so I could make good desserts and what-not that my friends, family, and myself could enjoy!

All of Sweet Avenue’s cupcake flavors sound so good!
I would create “Chocolate-covered Cherry” which would be chocolate cake filled with cherry preserves and cherry frosting with a chocolate-covered cherry on top!
I would love to attend Cupcakefest, but I’m in Louisville — yes, the home for Abbey Road on the River!

I absolutley ADORE cupcakes!
My cupcake flavor would probably be a cute raspberry barnyard cupcake, with a dark chocolate cake with green icing and raspberry filling, with little animal sprinkles on top!
Unfortuanatley, I can’t make the cupcakefest, because I’m stuck in little old Missouri. D:
(Where I live has nothing to do with my love of farm animals. ;D)

My cupcake flavor would combine salty and sweet. Chocolate cake, peanut butter filling, chocolate ganache and a pretzel on top.
We are almost postive we will be attenting the cupcakefest. We are looking forward to it!

I would totally make the cappuccino cakes filled with espresso creme! I love coffee and i love cupcakes… together they are bliss! And sadly no I will not be able to attend the festival because I too will be in VA that day.

OREO CUPCAKE!!!
The soft cupcake filled with chuncky pieces of oreo, plus it’s vegan!!!
That would be so great! It would probably be the first cupcake that can be dipped into delicious cold soy milk….that’s my prespective of a better world.
I would love to have that book, it would be great to have when baking goodie vegan treats for my friends on their birthdays.

My flavor would be Dulce de Leche, a vanilla cupcake with caramelized sugar bits baked in, caramel flavored frosting, and finally (you guessed it) drizzled with caramel.

I am definitely attending cupcakefest because Sweet Avenue Bake Shop is one of the best bakeries in Rutherford
My creation would be Bananarama, which would be a vanilla cupcake, with a peanut butter/banana stuffing, and peanut butter frosting with a banana on top.
I’ll see you all at Cupcakefest next weekend!!!

hmmm… I think strawberry slice cupcakes sound delicious, pink strawberry cake with uber-fluffy strawberry frosting with a huge strawberry dipped in chocolate sitting oh so pretty on top! YUM! Eat lots of cupcakes for those of us that don’t live anywhere NEAR lovely cupcake fest, which would be me!

So maybe I’d like a 5 foot tall cupcake. :]

My cupcake would be Marble mania with a chocolate vanilla swirl (marbled) in the cupcake and then chocolate icing with vanilla icing a dab of whipped cream on to and a piece of chocolate to top it off. I cannot attend the cupcake fest because i live in canada

Something with chocolate, and something with coffee. Hmmm…a rich chocolate cake with swirls of espresso mixed in. Then of course topped with a mocha frosting and an espresso bean on top. I would probably have to call it “Jitters” though
I don’t get to go, I live, oh….2400 miles away. We miss out on all the cupcake fun!

I would have strawberry shortcake cupcake.
It will have a pinkish color with a soft fluffy texture and on top will be a off-white creamish icing with red strawberry flavored dizzle on top of that and a small slice of strawberry that sits in the middle. That sounds sooo good right now. Lol.

I have a couple ideas, lemon lavender cupcake which is a lemon cupcake and lavender (like the flower) infused icing. mmm A Hazelnut cupcake light chocolate cupcake with nutella like ganache on top maybe with a couple hazelnut crunches as a garnish. or a caramel pineapple mousse cupcake. White or yellow cupcake filled with caramel topped with caramel pinapple whipped cream mousse!! so yummy!!

I would want Mocha Madness cupcakes! My mouth is watering already! Sadly I won’t be attending Cupcakefest because I live too far away to attend.
And if I got the book I would give it to my friend who loves to bake. She’s not vegan and she always says she wants to make me vegan cupcakes and this would help her tremendously! Maybe this would help her become vegan. We can always hope!

p.s. If I win I know that cupcakes probably won’t travel very well so I’d be happy with just the recipe book!
