CosmoGIRL! magazine is looking for one outstanding girl to honor as their CosmoGIRL! of the Year. We know that there are tons of amazing young women on the peta2 Street Team, and it would be awesome to see one of you win! Not only will the girl who wins be featured in the magazine, but she will also win a $10,000 scholarship from Maybelline and a trip to the “Born to Lead” awards in New York City. So, head over to cosmogirl.com/borntolead and tell CosmoGIRL! in 500 words or less why you deserve to win, and be sure to mention all of your hard work for animals. Send us a copy of what you submit to CosmoGIRL! and we’ll give you 750 Street Team points. If you need a hand writing your essay, e-mail me at NoahC@peta2.com and I’ll be glad to help you out!
Lettuce Ladies and Broccoli Boys
Now is your chance to show your love for your favorite veg guys and gals. In PETA’s fifth annual “World’s Sexiest Vegetarians” poll, it’s up to all of you who’s the hottest, from Phantom Planet’s Alexander Greenwald or Good Charlotte’s Benji or Joel Madden, to Avril Lavigne and Johanna Fateman of Le Tigre. Previous winners include Andre 3000, Tobey Maguire, Josh Hartnett, Alicia Silverstone, Lauren Bush, Natalie Portman, and Shania Twain. It’s no easy task with so many beautiful people on this year’s list, but narrow it down to the best of the best and cast your vote today!
Father’s Day is Coming Up
Enough with the procrastination already … take a look at the peta2 Father’s Day mission right now. We want you to write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper explaining why you have the world’s most compassionate dad. It’s a really simple way to show your dad that you appreciate him and help animals at the same time. My father recently went vegan after being diagnosed with cancer, so I’ll be taking part in this mission with all of you.
Pulin along with peta2 summer staffers Kat, Jolinda, and Rob headed out to Detroit last weekend for a huge electronic music festival called Fuse In. Along with 5 local activists, they got thousands of people to sign up for the peta2 e-news, distributed tens of thousands of stickers, gave lots of free hugs, and showed Meet Your Meat to lots of receptive folks.
