It’s easy to think that bad things happen to animals somewhere else because it allows people to skirt their sense of responsibility and deny their obligation to take action against things that they know aren’t right. One animal rights activist wants to make the truth crystal clear, so she sent us these photos of the fur-trapping trade alive and kicking in her home state of Iowa.
The fur industry continues because photos like these go unseen or because people think that this kind of thing can’t possibly happen in their area. The fur industry isn’t just a problem in China, Canada, or Russia—it is a problem here.
