I’m sure your mouth is already watering at the mere mention of a Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake, so let’s get right down to this week’s tofu-inspired recipe. Vegan shakes are usually filled with lots of vegan ice cream and soy milk, but my version is just as tasty, super easy, a whole lot more healthy, and still dairy (and cruelty!)-free. Check it out:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake
Grab a blender and toss in the bananas (I tear them into chunks), chocolate-flavored tofu, peanut butter, and ice. Put the lid on (very important), and blend this sucker! Pour into glasses and enjoy.
Serves 2
It’s that easy. Every single person I’ve made this for has loved it—so get to blendin’ and sharin’!
Who’s excited to try this?!
*If you can’t find chocolate-flavored silken tofu near you, just use regular silken tofu and add in some chocolate syrup.

I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.

I make this all the time. However, I like to freeze the bananas first and use the frozen bananas instead of ice cubes (less watery). Cut them up in chunks and put in the blender with some soy milk (chocolate or vanilla, whatever you prefer) and a tablespoon of peanut butter. I find that the bananas are sweet enough and I don’t need to add any sweetener. The less soy milk you add…the more of an ‘ice cream’ consistency you will get. It’s delicious!
Enjoy!

I am a big fan of peanut butter banana smoothies! But, what is wrong with banana strings? Yuck? No way! They are just the same as the rest of the banana! They are not yuck! It all gets blended up anyway.

WOW…I just made this smoothie and it tastes REALLY great. I didnt have chocolate-flavored tofu though so I used regular tofu and chocolate powder and agave to make it sweeter and finally a bit of hemp protein. Thanks for the great recipe.

can firm tofu be used or no?

Firm tofu is just that- firm. I’ve never blended firm tofu but I think it would make it thicker. Probably much thicker. I’ve made pudding with silken tofu and it came out like pudding, so that would be the consistency of the shake with silken tofu.

Hi!
The recipe sounds great, but I don’t take chocolate. Carob would work as well, but would take more work.

Peel the banana from the bottom. It peels the strings with it.
