Last week, our campus outreach crew had a fantastic stop at Rutgers University. Not only did crew members gather more than 1,000 signatures from students in support of implementing Meatless Mondays on campus, they also got a chance to hang with the awesome campus group Rutgers United for the Welfare of Animals (RUWA)!

RUWA has been hard at work helping animals. Last year, it was able to raise money for local animal shelters and successfully pushed for a less cruel euthanasia protocol at an on-campus farm.

Now the group is gathering signatures in support of a bill to end the use of gestation crates for pigs in New Jersey. The measure will be presented to a legislative committee very soon, so if you’re interested in supporting the campaign, you can contact RUWA here.

Go, RUWA!
