Earlier today, news broke that tests have confirmed that fur garments from China sold at Burlington Coat Factory, JCPenney, and Macy’s are made from raccoon dog fur, not “raccoon” or “coyote” fur as the products’ labels would have you believe. Selling any animals’ fur is cruel of course, but this finding is particularly shocking when you see the video footage taken by undercover investigators in China showing raccoon dogs being swung by their hind legs, slammed head-first into the ground, and skinned alive.
