Simple Plan is Anti-Fur

A while back, the band Simple Plan approached peta2 about helping out with our anti-fur campaign. We jumped at the opportunity to work with these guys, and shot an ad that shows the bloody truth about the fur industry.
Entertainment Today recently featured an article written by reporter and PETA member Denise Ames about the band and their involvement with peta2. Here’s a little clip:
It is well-known that the band couldn’t care less about what people think of them. However, when it comes to animals, it’s a whole different story. They recently approached the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to help out with their extensive “No Fur” campaign. The band recently posted shirtless with a dead fox to spread the message about wearing fur.
“We are taking gradual steps toward being a part of the fight for animal rights,” said Desrosiers. Guitarist Levebvre adds, “The wearing of real fur is just really extreme. We felt we had to do something. And besides, if Jeff (Stinco) took his clothes off you’d realize what fur really is!” (Laughs) Desrosiers, “Seriously, no chick is going to get backstage with us if she’s wearing fur… It’s Simple Plan’s law.”

If you haven’t gotten a chance to view the ad yet, check it out now!

Tegan and Sara Vocalist Sounds Off Against Fur
Montreal’s CJLO are super nice folks and featured peta2’s interview with Tegan and Sara on their site. Take a look at cjlo.com for that and more!

I love Simple Plan, and I’m like really big in not being cruel to animals. Them doing this just really made my day, I mean I think about it and I’m just so happy that one of my favorite bands actually supports something everyone should support. And most importantly they aren’t supporting it to go along with the crowd, they’re supporting it because they actually believe in it.

Born and bred in Britain. I've always lived with animals and loved finding out new information/ caring about them. I currently do eat meat although I am not a huge lover and I do intend on going vegetarian when I'm older. I've always wanted to support charities and I am the head fund raiser at my school. I am looking forward to supporting Peta and becoming a member of their Street Team!

I am 13 years old and joined the street team June 2015. I am a vegetarian. I have a passion for working to help save animals. I love my family and my 2 pugs, Daisy and Diesel. I plan to work for Peta or Mercy For Animals someday because they helped me become a vegetarian and begin a whole new life of having common sense towards all animals.
