A while back, the band Simple Plan approached peta2 about helping out with our anti-fur campaign. We jumped at the opportunity to work with these guys, and shot an ad that shows the bloody truth about the fur industry.
Entertainment Today recently featured an article written by reporter and PETA member Denise Ames about the band and their involvement with peta2. Here’s a little clip:
It is well-known that the band couldn’t care less about what people think of them. However, when it comes to animals, it’s a whole different story. They recently approached the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to help out with their extensive “No Fur” campaign. The band recently posted shirtless with a dead fox to spread the message about wearing fur.
“We are taking gradual steps toward being a part of the fight for animal rights,” said Desrosiers. Guitarist Levebvre adds, “The wearing of real fur is just really extreme. We felt we had to do something. And besides, if Jeff (Stinco) took his clothes off you’d realize what fur really is!” (Laughs) Desrosiers, “Seriously, no chick is going to get backstage with us if she’s wearing fur… It’s Simple Plan’s law.”
