I help animals in animal shelters by only adopting from shelters, not breeders and I lead by example by having all my pets spayed or neutered.

Oh so many ways! Always having our own pets spayed and neutered is a first (and we even own a farm!) I also help out a local animal i guess you could call “safe house” its with the local animal rescue but instead of putting them in animal shelters people foster the animals in their own homes, whenever i see stray animals i feed them and help to catch them ( in a nice and friendly way^^) then the safe house has them vaccinated/spayed/neutered then we find them wonder animal loving homes. Right now im trying to save a stray mother dog with her batch of adorable puppies :3

We have a local organization that’s just starting out (I’m joining) to help with “catch and release” spay/neuter in our area. It sounds like it isn’t the best plan, but we track cat groups and make sure we keep tabs on where they are. This will keep the cat population down/ and shelters will no longer have to deal with overcrowding, and animals will be saved from euthanasia! That’s the main goal, to save all animals possible!

When the issue is brought up or I’m reminded of it, I tell EVERYONE & ANYONE (who will listen) about the horrors of taking an animal to a animal control shelter verses the humane society. At an animal control shelter, they put the animals down after 2 weeks if they are not adopted :(

At the humane society, animals live for good! On another note, DON’T GET AN ANIMAL IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO TAKE CARE OF IT!!!

I volunteer at my countys Animal Control shelter. Our officer makes a point to not euthanize any animal unless they are very sick. She send animals to other locations for adoption if our number of animals become too high. I love every minute I am there helping our animals

My cat of 15 years is a rescue, my dogs are adopted from friends, my turtle was saved after being left in the middle of a busy street, my snake was saved when my dad bought it from a crackhead threatening to kill it if no one gave him 2 dollars. All animals I have ever had were saved from something, my old rat (this was when I was 10) was chosen by me because they said he was going to be fed to a snake and I thought that was horrible so I begged my mom to buy him. All my cats were neutered/spayed.

Me and My male companion built a greenhouse out in our back yard cple years back ago . It has a pellet stove which keeps the stray cats warm and out of the cold , I also provide food and water daily. For the regulars I had trapped in a have a heart trap and brought to my local shelter to have spaded and neutered at no cost providing I bring them back to my area .The shelter also provides free medical care to those in need .

My ways to help or speak up to animals is awesome 😀 I have an adopting center where its nothing like Petsmart or Sun Pet.I have an amount of animals like mice, hamsters, dogs, cats, reptiles and fish that are always in good condition for my customers. :) I always provide food for them and my group and staff help raise money for shelters that need the money to repair their animals like my center does.I always pledge and pray everyday for this to stop.I am indeed vegan and i always stand outside of a fast food meatery like KFC or McDonalds to help stop their cruelty to such animals with signs when i have free time with my staff. The best way i have to help is to pray every hour of the day with many people in a homeless center or school.I pray because i know God will answer me in some way to stop this.I’m currently writing a book right now about animals being tormented, slaughtered, and neglected and much more. Its called ”Cruelty Needs To Stop In History” I like helping out in many ways i could but sometimes i feel like its not enough,so i try harder each day for this to stop.
    Sincerly,
    Kimberly Dani

I always tell my friends to treat animals with respect and treat them the way they are meant to be treated. Not to keep them kept in tiny places they are meant to be able to run free. My mom’s friend was getting rid of her little yorkie because she didn’t have enough time for a puppy plus she had too many other dogs. So I told my mom that I would take the little pup and he has been my little boy for many years now!!! I love him to pieces and i’m so happy he has a nice spacious home:)

My dog is neutered and i usually warn people about not spaying and neutering their pets and what could happen and i hope people will be careful about that because too many unspayed and unneutered animals is definately not a good thing.

I am a volunteer at my local no-kill animal shelter, stopping by every chance I get, sometimes even on my lunch break just to show the sweet babies there some love & affection! The shelter also has a thrift store which all proceeds go to the animals’ expenses, so I gather items from my friends, family, and co-workers to take. I have also recruited friends to become volunteers as well, & am constantly asking for monetary donations or supplies to help. I keep photos of the animals on hand to show to anyone I come in contact with in case the topic is brought up, to hopefully find these sweeties a “forever home”. Lastly, for those who already have pets, I strongly encourage them to spay & neuter their animals.

Every pet I have has been spayed. My mom and I are foster parents for animals in shelters. We foster them so they can run around in the backyard, instead of being cramped in a cage all day with no fun. When I move down to Florida, I already have it arranged for me to work at the local shelter that my mom’s best friend works at.

I continue to tell everyone I know to adopt their pets via shelters or other such sources instead of buying them from pet stores or traders. Those animals badly need a home and some of them have been stuck in those places for a long, long time. Me and my sister have been volunteering in a shelter in our area and anytime anyone we know mentions the possibility of getting a new pet we refer them straight away. All three of our pets have been adopted from shelters or homes who could not continue to keep them. And of course we reiterate the importance of neutering and spaying.

I actually throw parties once in a while for several different things like when I want to show off my paintings. My parties always have a “special guest” which is an animal from the shelter. About half the time the animal is adopted. This also helps with informing people about spay/neuter.

I also ask people who I see haven’t neutered their dogs/cats on why and try my hardest to convince them to go have it done :) I also posted “adopt don’t buy” stickers I found at locals stores that have started selling pure breds from breeders instead of trying to get shelter dogs adopted.

My license plate frame on the back of my car says ‘Save A Life. Spay and Neuter.”. I have this version of Calico Dragon Bag’s Purse. :-) I volunteer at rescues and help to rehabilitate dogs. I like to educate the public by being upbeat and friendly when explaining the Pet Overpopulation Problem. I love to offer training help and advice to anyone who wants it. I’m basically a big walking ‘Spay and Neuter’ and ‘Adopt Don’t Shop’ Billboard. I would love to add this one to the collection and rock it!! :-)

I serve as the chair of the Youth Advisory Board of Humane Society Silicon Valley! Whether we are simply planning during our meetings or spending some much-needed time with the animals up for adoption, I love every minute I’ve spent there. HSSV has truly become my second home since the beginning of my high school career, and I never imagined that I would be making promotional videos, giving speeches to hundreds of people, and simply proudly representing animals in such a way as I do now. Unfortunately, I’ve never been allowed to have pets besides fish, so I strive to give my time, energy, and love to the pets I never have, the animals that need it most. :)

Since then, I’ve been taking the dogs there for 3 days a week, as a promise to myself, as well as playing with the cats when I can. To be honest, I feel myself becoming a total advocate for adopting dogs rather than buying Pedigree from breeders- ’cause we all know what inevitably happens to the poor guys.

Im a volunteer. And I’m raising funds and materials to help animals in shelters – to spay and neuter it’s animals and to make their lives more comfortable till they get to their new homes. Of course, together with my charity campaigns also goes messages to people, so that they would see what happens and they would spay or neuter their pets.

I volunteer at my local wildlife center when I can, helping preserve nature. The majority of my pets are rescue animals (and I have 13 pets!). I try to convince my friends who want a dog to adopt from a shelter. I also try to convince those who want to breed their animals that spaying/neutering is better.

i actually haven’t volunteered at any shelters, but i encourage all my friends and family to spay or neuter their pets, also i have taken their pets to get the procedures since they do not want to be bothered with it. i live in a small town where this is a real problem. i try to get through to as many people as a can who have tried to ignore the problem that it is.

Yes, spay & neuter is really a good thing. There is so many cats & dogs lost and abandoned because they are strays, it’s really hard to keep up with them all. Thats why I am getting my cat spayed. & my dog qweeny is already fixed after 2 litters of puppies they all got homes & we even kept one ! It makes the animal feel better & plus you save more cats & dogs lives that need a home. I try my best though to pick up strays & find them homes, but it would be nice if more people were aware, and they got their animals fixed. & adopting from a shelter is great. I know that when I can I will adopt a puppy or kitty that is on their way to death row!

I go to animal stores and tell people about puppy mills, sun pet, and how much more healthier the pets from animal shelters tend to be, plus, there (at the shelter) people can give you more information about the pets personality (like how good they are with kids and etc.)
I also volunteer at the shelter when I can and I donate animal food or the animals. Not only that our cat Gracy there she is one Old, Grumpy, gorgeous, Calico girly.

I work as a foster with Dog Rescue of Maryland. My husband and I had two pit bull girls that were emaciated and sickly when we took them in, almost 2 years ago. Just this past Friday they were both adopted, together, to a GREAT home. Made it worth every minute, and we’re ready to save another life!

I share the code red dogs at our local shelter on Facebook, which both ups their chances of adoption and publicises the practise of euthanasia. It always surprises me how many people think that shelters will just keeps animals indefinitely.

I volunteer at my local no-kill shelter when I can. I also tell all my friends to spade and nueter their pets. And anyone looking for a pet I tell them to adopt, adopt, adopt.
