I’m not sure about where you live, but even though August may seem like the end of summer, it’s one of the hottest months in Los Angeles. Luckily, things stay nice and cool inside PETA’s Bob Barker Building. To help the rest of you ladies out, though, we’re giving away our “Vegetarian” crop top!
Meat consumption involves factory farms, disease, and environmental destruction—not to mention horrific animal abuse—so why wouldn’t you go veg? For your chance to win this “Vegetarian” crop top, leave a comment below telling us what your favorite animal rights catchphrase is. Mine is “Powered by Tofu.”

My favourite animal rights catchphrase isn’t really a catchphrase, it’s a quote from River Phoenix whose beliefs inspired me to be vegetarian. In referring to the slaughter of animals he said, “What a selfish use of power, to take a weaker thing and mutilate it.” It was one of the most powerful quotes I’ve ever heard and it really influenced me.

I really like the, “The question is not, ‘Can they reason?’ nor, ‘Can they talk?’ but rather, ‘Can they suffer?’” I saw it about a year ago and I used it for the Cutest Vegetarian Alive contest. People everywhere need to follow this moral.
