If you’re vegan, thinking about becoming vegan, or simply love exploring new and healthy meat alternatives, you’ve got to get yourself acquainted with seitan (pronounced “say-tahn” or “say-tan”) aka wheat gluten.
In the beautiful scope of faux meats, we have tofu, tempeh, texturized vegetable protein (TVP) and seitan (my fave—it’s high in protein, low in fat, and tastes delicioso). You can grill it, fry it, barbecue it, kabob it up, slap it on a sankie (with some mustard, pickles, and veggies) … the possibilities are endless.
