Be a Hero for Animals With We The Kings
Florida rockers We The Kings are bursting at the seams with exactly what we love about pop music—catchy, carefree sing-alongs. Since gaining attention with 2007’s platinum debut single “Check Yes Juliet,” We The Kings’ profile has continued to rise, as evidenced by a string of radio hits and world tours. They may be the princes of summertime pop music, but there’s another title that We The Kings’ frontman Travis Clark goes by here at peta2: superhero for animals!
After rescuing his first dog—a Jack Russell terrier named Milo—Travis fell in love with animal adoption, telling peta2, “You almost feel like a superhero when you save an animal.” Travis felt so much joy from saving Milo that he went on to adopt two more canine pals—his Chihuahuas, Taco and Elvis Scissorhands—knowing that “one person adopting can change a … whole life of … a dog.”
By adopting an animal from a shelter, you’ll be saving the life of one of the millions of homeless animals in this country. Every year, 6 to 8 million animals end up in animal shelters in the U.S. alone, and half of them are euthanized for lack of a good home. Meanwhile, puppy mills and breeders continually bring new animals into the world, trying to make a quick buck. With such an extreme overpopulation crisis, every time you purchase an animal from a breeder or pet store, it costs a perfectly lovable shelter animal the chance at a healthy, happy life. If you want to save the world, start at home by adopting your new best friend!
