Street Teamer Devin ♥s Veggie Burgers!
Here at peta2, we know how lucky we are that we get to work with awesome Street Teamers just like you who spend every day going above and beyond for animals at your school and in your community. OH, and speaking of awesome Street Teamers …
Meet 16-year-old Devin Pohn: the latest Street Teamer to have a Veggie Burger Project victory at his school!
Devin, a current peta2 Youth Advisory Board member who helps run his school’s animal rights group, knew it really wasn’t fair that his high school’s lunch menu didn’t offer much for vegans and vegetarians beyond a boring salad bar and a measly plate of fries. He knew what had to be done, and he went straight to work!
How’d he do it?
Following tips he got from peta2’s most delicious campaign, Devin had his classmates (and teachers!) sign a petition to get a veggie burger added in the cafeteria. Then he scheduled a meeting with his school principal, the cafeteria manager, and the school’s café liaison officer to chat about making veggie burgers a daily option at lunchtime. And it worked! WOOHOO!
Here’s Devin with his café liaison sealin’ the deal with a handshake:

Because of his outstanding work for animals, Devin has won a well-deserved Star Street Teamer Award from peta2:
Thanks to Devin, he and his friends now get to enjoy a delish, cruelty-free veggie burger (that no one had to die for) whenever they please! And now, also thanks to Devin, his school is taking a huge step in the right direction by helping animals, too.
